As the Sompo Group's small-amount, short-term insurance company, we create new experiences and value in insurance by utilizing digital technology.

 

We collaborate with companies from different industries, including digital platformers, and provide unique digital insurance products such as cancellation insurance, flight delay insurance, and smartphone insurance.

 

We will continue to work hard on creating new experiential value utilizing digital technology, and aim to be an insurance company that can quickly respond to new customer demands arising from the changing times.

3 Digital Models

1. Embedded Insurance

Providing embedded insurance for a lot of different services. For example, our travel cancel insurance and flight delay insurance are embeded in Yahoo Travel which is one of the biggest online travel reservation services in Japan.

Also, we provide our travel cancel insurance to Rakuten Travel. If you request this product when reserving domestic accommodation through Rakuten Travel, your travel reservation information will be linked, so customers can easily enroll in insurance in as little as three minutes with only their personal information and payment information.
In addition, the insurance claim procedure can be completed online. The total number of contracts exceeded 100,000 in less than 6 months after the start of sales.

2. Parametric Insurance

A certain amount of insurance money can be received immediately in electronic money according to the flight delay time, etc. Our flight delay insurance makes it possible to pay insurance claims during the shortest waiting time at the airport for expenses incurred due to announcements of flight delays or cancellations. If information about a delay or cancellation of your scheduled flight of more than 2 hours or 4 hours is announced, you will be automatically notified of an insurance claim, so you can receive your insurance while waiting at the airport in the shortest possible time.

3. Digital Marketing

We are challenging digital marketing using SNS, owned media, Internet advertising, etc., mainly for the digital native generation.
We aim to build contact points through familiar and easy-to-reach products such as "smartphone insurance" for customer segments that are difficult to reach with conventional insurance companies.
